New Lab members and new Lab name!
We warmly welcome Xuan and Yi to join us! We are aslo proud to announce that we have integrated our research directions and accordingly changed the name of our laboratory to "Plant IDEA Lab".
Plant IDEA Lab: Plant Interactions, Design, and Environmental Adaptation
Our lab aims to investigate how plants sense, respond to, and adapt to their environment. Our research integrates plant evolution, nutrient signaling, and plant-environment interactions with cutting-edge approaches in design biology and synthetic biology. By combining experimental, computational, and engineering methods, we aim to uncover the principles governing plant adaptation and to develop programmable plant systems for sustainable agriculture and environmental resilience.
At Plant IDEA Lab, we are particularly interested in:
-
Plant-environment interactions: understanding how plants perceive and respond to environmental cues.
-
Evolutionary and adaptive strategies: studying the mechanisms that allow plants to thrive under changing conditions.
-
Design biology: applying synthetic biology and engineering principles to create programmable plant traits.
Our long-term goal is to bridge fundamental plant biology with innovative, application-oriented plant engineering, fostering a new generation of resilient and sustainable crops.
